Are we safe if we touch or kiss cats in its body or mouth?

What's wrong with my Cat?
My cat used to be outgoing and happy, but now he's attached to only one room. We have about six other cats, but he gets along with them great, so I don't see he why he won't leave this certain room. I even try to take him out, but he goes right back in. And he won't even come out for food, we have to put a food bowl in there now...He's been in there for over a month and none of my other cats do this.If you pet him, he shivers and cowers back a little. He hasn't been abused either because I had him since he was a baby.
Cat + Dog + Baby Gate = Problem?
My husband and I have 2 cats that are allowed to roam the house freely. Their litter box and food is in our laundry room. Well we are getting a puppy here shortly, a dachshund he is only going to be 10lbs fully grown . We modified a baby gate we shortened it to 18 inches , its easy to step over and our 1 cat has no issue jumping over it, but the other cat will stand up to it it reaches his stomach when he stands, he should easily be able to jump it, he jumps onto our bed and it is much much higher than that , but refuses to jump the gate. What should we do, we need to keep that room locked off from the tiny dog he is actually smaller than the cats . The cat has been in the laundry room all night, standing at the cat meowing, I feel bad, but he needs to learn... any ideas?
Cat had ringworm; are the others going to get it?
I have 3 cats 2 kittens and an adult cat. The adult cat has had some hair loss for about a week now. We found out it is ringworm, and now have him isolated and he is being treated. However, he has had very close contact with the 2 kittens before we knew it was ringworm. He has active ringworm for the last week.I stripped all the bedding, toys, etc that the infected kitty came in contact with also. I vacuumed and sanitized everything too.None of the kittens are showing any signs. Could they still have it, and just not be showing it yet? To be safe, i used the Ringworm shampoo on them. If they got ringworm, and arent showing the signs of it yet, would me bathing them with the medicated shampoo prevent it from getting worse?
What should I do about this stray cat?
Over a month ago, I noticed a white cat in my yard, and my mother told me that one day it was sleeping on my back deck. A couple of weeks ago, I opened my front door at night and this white cat bolted from my front porch. Then one night when I got home and was walking up to my front steps porch light was off , the white cat suddenly ran from the porch when I approached. Well, the other day when I arrived home, I saw the white cat laying on the grass near my yard. I spoke softly to it and outstretched my hand. The cat softly meowed back to me whenever I spoke to it. Then about 5 minutes later, the cat walked up to me and started rubbing her body on my legs and went up to my mom and did the same thing. She walked with us to my front steps, but we had to keep her from coming in the house. I know that she doesn't belong to anyone on my street, but that doesn't prove that she doesn't belong to someone somewhere else. I don't know if I should feed her, since she looks thin poor thing . If she currently has a home, I would think she would be of normal weight. I'll go outside after midnight to check for her presence, and if I see that she's in my yard late at night, then perhaps she's really lost or abandoned.I'm too sensitive about stray cats...it bugs me that this cat is all alone outside, and I was in tears last night.
My young cat attacks my old cat?
I have an older 15 year old american shorthair and then a 6 year old ragdoll. The older cat was an only cat until we adopted the younger one as a kitten. The older cat is fairly grumpy and independent by nature and the two cats never got along extremely well but they just seemed to ignore each other until recently. My younger cat has been stalking and pouncing and attacking the older cat for not apparent reason. I'm worried because the older cat is a little overweight and has arthritis pretty bad so the younger one could possibly hurt her pretty bad. I've thought this might be a alpha cat thing but i've read that this only happens when the older cat is about to die, and my vet has told us that her health is amazing for her age and weight despite her arthritis. Getting rid of either of them is not an option, I would really just like to know if it is a dominance thing or something different.
How long can a cat stay alone? Should I give him to someone else?
A few days ago I found a young cat on the street and took him in. My estimate is that he's 1 month old. I'd like to keep him but I don't know if it's the best for him.I live alone, and when college starts I won't be home much. Probably about 3 hours a day, besides sleeping. And even during that time I'll eat and shower and such, so he'll probably get about 1 hour of my undivided attention. Is that enough for a cat? Cats sleep a lot, and sometimes they even don't want contact, so for all I know it might be enough.I would wait to see how it turns out, but adult cats are hard to give away and he's got better chances of getting a home while he's all cute and cuddly, so I need to know soon.Thanks.
