I recently rescued a horse... need some help?
He is very skittish and i know nothing of his background. He is very head shy. I have to grab his halter very quickly and it always startles him but once i have him clipped to a lead rope he behaves perfectly. he will stand tied and he lets me brush him and everything. I don't understand why he acts so scared of me when he is not hooked to a lead rope but when he is hooked to it he acts like he has known me forever and would trust me with almost anything.

Our 9 yr old rescue cat has started waking us up early in the a.m.crying for food.?
This has just started in the past month. She will start crying to eat anywhere between 3 6 a.m. She will often do the same in the p.m., starting 2 3 hours before her regular feeding time. How do we deal with this? The early morning crying is the most annoying because it interrupts our sleep. Lily is on a hypo allergenic diet 1 4 cup of kibble 2x daily.
I have a rescue horse that developed bumps over his neck and sides. any ideas?
These bumps come and go. Some days you can't see any and other days he is covered over his neck and sides of his belly. Some scabbing has started under his chin and the side of his face. He is loosing his hair in these spots. Any ideas what this could be?I will take some pics and post them later this evening. He has been quarantined for 30 days already. These bumps just surfaced. These bumps are not appearing where strangles would blow out his glands but where the chin strap or halter would go. I do not ride him with a chin strap and his halter is off most of the time. I know that doesn't mean much since horses come in contact with different things everyday. We took him off of a new grain thinking that may be the issue but they still tend to reappear. Not sure if it is stress related or not. I am going to have the vet come out and look at him. But didn't know if anyone else ever had this happen? I did not get any medical records with him but I did receive a negative coggins report. Thanks for your replies

How to get my mum to let me have a rescue cat?
I've had cats before and I know what its like to have one and all My mum loves cats, like me, but for some reason she won't get one. We had two cats before, but sadly they died about 4 5 years ago. We have the time and the space, and I have offered to put in my money to help care for it, but my mum still says no. I have some pets at the moment and I look after them really well, mu mum never has to nag at me to clean them out ect... I don't nag at her either for not letting me have a cat Any NICE advice would be great P.s Don't call me a brat or any thing like that because im not, I just want to give some cat in a rescue shelter a second chance in life x
What breed is my rescue puppy?
I recently rescued my new girl puppy from the local pound and it had her listed as mix. The pound said she is boxer mix but everyone else says she is pit bull mix. I am just curious to what she is. She is very playful and loving. Abused dogs - animal rescue?
One of my neighbors has 4 dogs, 5 out of control kids and until this morning 2 newborn bunnies.One of the dogs killed 1 bunny right in front of my eyes. She seemed least concerned and said " oh well, now i have to bury it" . Another dog is tied to a pole with a rope and has a couple of cuts on its body. You can see the pink flesh. I have seen her grandkid kick a dog. A maltese is almost black because it's never bathed. If she cannot protect a newborn bunny from her 5 dogs, and her house is full of kids running wild, filthy, abused and bruised dogs, and 1 rabbit that's alive so far... I don't think she has any business hoarding animals. I don't want to call a shelter 'coz I don't want them to be put to sleep. What do I do? I live in northern california bay area . I have never had a pet so I know close to zilch about animals. Please advise what I can do. I feel terrible for those poor dirty, injured, abused animals.Greek God Pretty terrible about the kids too. Where do i start when adopting a rescue dog?
i just adopted a one year old chihuahua form the pound about 3 days ago, she was taken from her previous owners because they didn't take care of her and didn't feed her. she is only 3lbs and 2 oz, the average is 5lbs for a chihuahua. it seams like she has clung to me and fallows me every were, she is a sweet dog but i need help on getting her to eat. at first i gave her a lot of food but she wouldn't eat it, then i gave her little meals through out the day. how can i get her to a good wight? as of now i can see her rips, i need help

i just need to know a cheap place to get heat lamps, bedding, visual attractiveness to the cages of my ball pythons. i want a more realistic look. but fake plants any ideas where i need lamps hides bulbs for lamps under tank heater. possibly incubator and in tank humidfier. The whole 9 yards please help me.i kind of have a reptile rescue im starting and need suppliesim starting a rescue iv been getting reptiles randomly from ppl who didnt know what they were getting into or anything like that. i want to have the attractive ness for ones that will not be rehomed weather being violent or anything i have those clear tall racks with like 10 drawers in each holes in the side papere towl on the bottoms and a watter dish and a hide. but i need cheap supplies for ones that are to aggressive to be rehomed or ect...
Is there a way for the rescue to take the dog?
Basically my mom bought a Irish Setter from a rescue and since the dog was to young at the time to be neutered, the rescue made her sign a contract stating the dog will be neutered by 6 months of age and that she must send them a signed vet receipt as proof of the neuter. Neither of which has been done. The dog is nearing 2 years of age and the rescue has been calling multiple times daily demanding she return the dog or risk going to court. We're moving in like 2 days and my mom has had our phone number changed so pretty much there will be no way for them to find us or the dog. I admit I have grown attached to the flea bitten mutt and don't want to see him leave.we have 8 other dogs that are intact and have never had a unplanned litter. It's rather unlikely this dog will sire a litter.

Good names for a Dog Rescue?
I am not old enough to start a rescue yet, but I am planning, so what are good names for a dog rescue? I dont want something cheesy, I want something that has meaning like Villalobos Rescue Center, which Villalobos means house of wolfs . So what ideas do you have? And does anybody know about the process to become a official 501c3 nonprofit? and EVERYTHING i will need to do to become one?
Question about a Dog Rescue?
Ok this is mostly for people who know about the history rep this place hasAnyways How the heck is Gentle Giants rescue still in business? I mean honestly amid numerous reports of how filthy the rescue is at different times, the condition many dogs have been sent home in, bait and switch after a specific dog has been paid for, lawsuits against adopters for not feeding GG brand food etc, how are they still in business? I mean besides the fact of who owns runs this rescue?Actually they are in California. if you found one in ontario that means there's at least a SECOND rescue with the same name that has to deal with possibly being connected to the one in Cali.Sam Being sick and bored helps. Plus Eris the cat from hades has gotten used to her new collar and is no longer trying to eat it.
