Yes Usually., sometimes you your betta might be too aggressive though. It is always good to have a backup plan. The tank needs to be big enough to hold a shoal of cories. Dwarf cories need to be in a 20 gallon minimum. regular cories need A 30 galon minimum. Pygmy cories are technically small enough to fit in a 10 gallon tank, but they are sensitive little fish that should be in larger shoals of 8 or so, wich means at least a 15 gallon tank is recomended, and the water might still not be stable enough for these fish The bare minimum size shoal for any shoaling fish is 5. You can not have any fish other than a single betta in a 5 gallon. Peppered cories are very sensitve cories.

Usually they can , they don't see them as a threat , but some bettas may just be grumpy :) it really depends On the fishes attitude :)

This really depends on the size of the tank and the temperament of the betta. You need at least, at -least- a 5 gallon tank to house another type of fish with a betta. Cory catfish need to be in a school of 3 or more, so you need to make sure the tank can accommodate that many fish, preferably 10 gallons. If you do decide to keep them, pick a variety of cory that is hardier like a peppered cory or an emerald cory. The emerald cory (Brochis splendens) in most pet stores is not even actually a corydora, and it is much more resistant to any bullying it might receive from a betta. It looks just like a greener bronze cory and behaves very similarly. They get slightly larger than a cory catfish and require a bit more space.

Well cories are schooling fish so to be happy you will need 5+ so I would say in a 20 gallon 5 cories and a betta should be fine but if the cory is alone it will be skitish
