Question: What is a very exotic pet?

I'm looking for a exotic pet to keep, something pretty unusual, any ideas? I understand that a lot of research should be done on whatever it is i chose to get, I'm not a beginner with owning pets, i have dogs geckos tarantulas scorpions snakes frogs salamanders etc, just looking for another pet equally or more exotic than my current pets.

Perhaps you might think about why you want an 'exotic' pet. A conversation starter? A way to meet girls/ guys? It is difficult to generalize, but this is an area to be very careful in. If pets are unusual, there's probably a good reason for it. Monkeys, for instance, are adorable, but often have a bad temper, fling their feces and bite. Very few humans I know appreciate this behaviour. Many other exotic animals are captured in the wild when the poacher kills one or both parents. I doubt this is something you would want to contribute to. This isn't exactly original, but I think the best pets are dogs. There are literally hundreds of varieties. If you are looking to impress friends and maybe strike up a conversation with someone you are attracted to, a dog is pretty hard to beat. Adopting a dog from a shelter is the mark of a person with compassion and common sense - both of which are attractive qualities in a partner or a friend. When I got my German Shepherd puppy, every second person stopped me on the street to talk or pet it. If you want something less cutesy than a floppy puppy, rats are highly trainable and easy to care for. Hedgehogs are cute, but they require live food and keeping mealworms in your apartment isn't exactly fun. I know many people with tarantulas, and they're pretty cool, but not very comfortable to hug after a bad day. I stick with big robust dogs with lots of energy and a good temperment, like Rotties or Sheps. Good luck. Whatever you decide, do some research ahead of time and make sure you can afford to care for, feed and provide veterinary assistance to your pet of choice. They give us so much companionship. The least we can do is look after them in return.

I have a pride of lions in my backyard. They make really good pets and people are really surprised when you tell them you have pet lions.

Whatever exotic pet you decide on, PLEASE educate yourself on them before buying. And make sure that you have an exotic vet before you get the animal.

Please make sure you are educated about exotic pets. Most that are worth calling "exotic " are illegal and come from the black market. If you cant get it at Petco, or another pet store in you neighborhood then dont get one. And please be sure that you know what you are doing. You may think it is cool, but really an exotic pet will take a lot of hard work and care, and probably wont be that fulfilling.

Ball python they are unusual exotic and make great pets they are constrictors so no venom or biting ppl they are pretty harty so no need to worry about it getting sick and dying and if you have ever had a cat you will know what i mean when i say they will pick a person to be thiers they will be protective of you and they are great cuddlers(yeah you heard me) they love just sitting in your hand or lap with you and ppl will think you are wicked if you have a snake as a pet and another good thing is they only get to be about 3 feet long and they are easy enough to obtain but i do have to say educate yourself b4 buying and they do have special needs being cold blooded like a heated terrarium and live food (crickets work and mice once they get bigger) they can live for over 40 years so its a commitment and they need atleast a 20 gallon tank(fishtanks with dirt in them work perfectly)

Get a zorse...its a zebra horse and they are beautiful!
