Mine suddenly goes berserk and runs round the house like a greyhound, jumps up the window and then runs up the stairs and slides down the bannister? He isn't an indoor cat either. Anyone else have this? |

My cat does this before she poops in the litter box. It's as if she knows something is about to happen, but can't quite tell what. |

They all get their 'mad moments'. My old girl is 16 now and even she has a few minutes a day chasing the invisible! |

YES hahaha my cat does this all the time, its hilarious!! I love it. She is crazy. Her ears go back too like a dog. Next time he gets in that mood get a ball of alfoil (scruched up) and thrown it around the room, they go nuts for it, and gives them something to run after :) |

Yes! Some evenings I have all three of mine having a fit if the crazies at the same time. It is either cat-appointed crazy time or one sets the other off. They go on a rampage through the apartment leaping, running, attacking each other as well as invisible objects. Cecil sometimes begins with his tail. He looks at it like it were some strange and fearful creature and runs away all fluffed up.... |

Yeah. my little one is like that all day. my other one who is very calm and quiet most of the day, suddenly breaks into a running marathon in the wee hours. it's not from catnip, so it must just be spontaneous. |

Mine is an indoor/ outdoor cat and sometimes she does the same. The first time she did it, I wondered what was going on as she has the heaviest footsteps and it sounded like a load of elephants charging round the house. They are just releasing pent up energy and it is completely normal. |

Ah yes, mine also has moments of madness :D She runs all over the apartment and tries to get me to chase her. She would run into the hall and make a left turn by jumping on the wall sideways and pushing her self off, matrix style XD. Or she would just jump on the side of the door about head high and then slide down, leaving claw marks in the wood D: It's just a way of letting out some pent up energy, I guess. They don't get as nearly much exercise as they would if they had to hunt for their food. Mine also poops sometimes afterward, but I'm not sure if she went crazy because she had to go, or did the whole jumping and running affected her bowels. Maybe it's a way of improving indigestion, I know exercise makes human bowels work better. |
